When we were teenagers, we lost our mom.
She was a teacher — the kind who poured herself completely into her students, year after year, quietly changing the trajectory of lives she may never have fully known she touched. Shortly before she died, our school took a photograph. Her former students came from everywhere to be there. They filled almost the entire bleachers.
We stood there and looked at that image and understood something in our bones that we've never forgotten:
Life is short. And a life spent making a difference is the only kind worth living.
We were three sisters — Bryson, Beth, and Mary Ann — and we had always dreamed of owning a store together. Not just any store. A store with a heartbeat. A store that stood for something. We used to play store as little girls, not knowing that one day the dream would become real, and that it would carry the weight of everything we'd lost and everything we wanted to give back.
Clover + Bee opened its doors with that promise at its foundation. Now, twenty years later, that promise still guides everything we do.
We built Clover + Bee for the woman in the middle of her real life.
Not the highlight reel version. The actual one.
The one who has a full calendar and an empty creative tank. The one who wants to look put-together without spending an hour figuring out how. The one who's walked into stores and felt like the clothes were made for someone else — someone with more time, more confidence, or a completely different life.

We opened our doors in Birmingham, Alabama with a simple belief: fashion is just the beginning. The real thing — the thing that keeps us going — is community.
The women who've become regulars. The customers whose stories we've gotten to know. The friendships that have formed in fitting rooms and in comment sections and over the phone when someone just needed help figuring out what to wear to something that really mattered.
That community extends beyond our storefront and our website. It lives in Honey For Your Heart, our podcast and one of the truest expressions of what Clover + Bee is really about. We share stories — of our customers, our community, and the real moments of womanhood that don't always make it to the highlight reel. Because we believe every woman's story deserves to be heard, and that shared stories have a way of making us all feel a little less alone.
And our "why" goes even further.
Years after we opened, my path crossed with the founders of Vapor Ministries — and something clicked. Here was an organization doing exactly what I'd always believed business should do: use its resources to change lives. Vapor is bringing clean water, food, jobs, and hope to communities across the globe, meeting some of the deepest poverty needs in the world.
We became monthly supporters and we haven't looked back.
